Zzyra: Web2 APIs, workflow engine, Web3

The problem

Automating a task that touches both a regular API and a blockchain usually means stitching two worlds together by hand. Zzyra is a workflow automation engine that treats Web2 APIs and Web3 networks as steps of the same automation.

Decisions & trade-offs

3 decisions

  1. D01

One engine for APIs and chains

Workflows treat Web2 API calls and Web3 actions on Hedera and Ethereum as steps of the same automation, so a task does not have to stop at the chain boundary.

  2. D02

    AI-driven automation

The engine is AI-driven and built with LangChain rather than being a fixed set of hand-wired integrations.

  3. D03

    A typed service stack

Next.js for the product surface, Solidity for on-chain logic and gRPC between services.

Outcomes

  • Has been in grant discussions with Hedera Hashgraph for its approach to cross-chain task automation.

The write-up

2 min read

Zzyra is an AI-driven workflow automation engine that bridges Web2 (regular APIs) and Web3 (Hedera and Ethereum). The idea is simple: an automation should be able to call an API, read or act on a chain and carry on, without the builder caring which side of that boundary each step lives on.

Stack

Next.js, LangChain, Solidity and gRPC.

Status

I founded and built Zzyra. It has been in grant discussions with Hedera Hashgraph for its novel approach to cross-chain task automation. A deeper technical write-up and architecture map will follow here.
